A huge thank you to everyone who got involved in today in Big Yellow Friday, our annual fundraising event in support of The Children's Liver Disease Foundation. The school was a sea of yellow all day with some very unusual and inventive fancy dress on display. At lunchtime there was a "controlled" melee when 100 yellow and white balloons were released from a net strung high in the hall and pupils and staff burst them in the hope of finding those winning tickets. Initially indications are that around £750 has been raised this year.
A big thank you to the sixth from charity commission for their support throughout the day and those companies and individuals who donated the prizes. Big thanks also to the star of the show, Tilly, for coming into school again to amaze everyone with her transition from a poorly 10 month old who had just received a life changing liver transplant when we completed BYF '14 to the bright and confident youngster getting ready to start her own school life this September. What an amazing gift of life her donor's family gave her in their own hours of grief. Without that selfless act Tilly might not be with us today & for that we will always be most grateful.
