Others are to stretch and support the Gifted and Talented students in the school or to allow students with a particular interest to explore things further: Art, Chess, Cookery, Craft, Creative Writing, Drama, Enterprise, Film, History, Maths Extension, Science and Technology are all catered for.
Some clubs provide sports coaching at a high level or the chance to participate in sport: Badminton (we have several county players), Basketball, Cricket (indoor nets and an active program of fixtures), Dance, Hockey, Outdoor Club (Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Climbing and Abseiling), Rugby, Swimming (at a competitive level) and Tennis Coaching.
We also have very active groups participating in the School platoon of the Army Cadet Force, The Air Training Corps in nearby Castle Cary and the Duke of Edinburgh Award, all of whom spend many weekends away training.
In association with the Confucius Centre at Southampton University and the British Council, we also run complimentary Mandarin Lessons after school which are taught by qualified Mandarin teachers.
