Inter House Competition
Sexey’s has a thriving and competitive inter house competition structure with students competing across a range of Summer and Winter sports, spelling, handwriting and spoken English competitions, young enterprise and music competitions. Competitions take place throughout the academic year at lunchtime and after school with students competing for the much coveted Bint Shield.
The history of the Bint Shield stretches back to 1924 when it was donated by F.C Bint who had been a pupil of the first modern Head Master, W.A.K Knight, in the 1890's. The trophy is highly prized and provides the highlight of speech day as the winning House Captains hold it aloft.
Students compete under their school house names of Hobhouse (Blue), Knight (Red), Golledge (Yellow) and Glynn Jones (White). The houses were renamed as the school expanded in the 1970's and take their names from benefactors to the school.
