Dorothy House fundraiser

27 April 2017: Our Sixth Formers held their school fundraiser for Dorothy House Hospice today, raising over £250 for this very special charity, which cares for people of all ages, from all walks of life with life-limiting illnesses and is this year celebrating its 40th birthday. The event, arranged by the students and held in the sixth form games session, was a sports day style event with three-legged and sack races and a fancy dress obstacle course. Dorothy House Fundraiser at Sexeys web

Commenting, Jess Perry, Year 13 said: "It was great to see so many people showing their support for an amazing charity that is so close to my heart. Thank you to anyone that helped out and got involved."

Rachael Palmer, Year 13, who helped with the organisation of the event added: "It was an honour to be able to organise this event for Dorothy House who care for people with life limiting illnesses. It was a brilliant afternoon that was a lot of fun, with a great atmosphere. Thank you to everyone who donated and showed their competitive side!"

We would like to say a big thank you to the following local businesses that donated raffle prizes:

Figgins
Bonbon chic
Amica
Godminster Cheese
Hauser & Wirth

Jess Perry, whose family has benefitted greatly from the charity, also fundraised in December, taking part in a Santa fun run, raising over £700.
