Lower school PSHE happens weekly for one period. Depending on the subject being covered the sessions are either in vertical classes (usually tutor groups) or in separate year groups. The provision for each year group therefore has some common aspects as well as some separate material.

Common provision for each year group:
- One session in gender groups (separate year groups) on Sexual Education with the school nurse.
- Two sessions on bullying (vertical).
- One session on e-safety (vertical).
- Three sessions on drugs (vertical and separate).
- House Community Project – Each house carries out a project to benefit the school or the wider community.
- Half termly target setting/review sessions based on effort grades.

Below is a brief breakdown of the provision for each year group:

Year 7
- Introduction to PSHE and its purpose.
- Series of sessions on personal identity and not succumbing to peer pressure.
- Series of sessions on community exploring the various attributes of a good community and how an individual can contribute to it.
- Two sessions on money management and saving.
- Two sessions on personal health.

Year 8
- Series of sessions on personal identity and not succumbing to peer pressure.
- Series of sessions on community exploring the various attributes of a good community and how an individual can contribute to it.
- Session with the Somerset Road Safety Partnership exploring the students attitudes to road safety.
- Session on future careers using the Kudos computer package.
- Three sessions exploring risk and safety including gambling.
- One session on personal health.

Year 9
- Series of sessions on personal relationships and coping with bereavement and relationship breakdown.
- Series of sessions on how students can contribute to their community.
- Sessions on planning for the future and the choices that are available.
- Three sessions exploring risk and safety and the agencies and people that can help with difficulties.
- One session on personal health and who can help with health issues.

Year 10
- Session with Somerset Road Safety Partnership exploring the dangers facing young drivers.
- Two sessions on careers including completing a questionnaire and using the Kudos computer package.
- Series of sessions on personal relationships and coping with bereavement and relationship breakdown.
- Series of sessions on how students can contribute to their community.
- Series of sessions exploring body image and the effect of the media on our perceptions of it.

Year 11
-Presentations from the NHS and other employers.
-Talk from the Head of Sixth and Careers advisor on options to choose post-16.
-General Studies and Aspirations sessions leading to a GCSE in General Studies.
-Sessions on building stronger communities and managing finances with special reference to employment law and taxation.
