I think I can honestly say that we well and truly kicked Spring off with a fantastic evening.  There certainly was a spring in the step of all 85 guests who arrived to a champagne reception in the main school where chatting and laughter set the tone for the evening ahead.

A mouth watering dinner was prepared and served by our very own talented school chef, his staff and four students who looked very smart in their Sexey's aprons certainly proved what a high standard of student we have in the school.  A great number of guests complimented the girls on their excellent manners and professionalism during the evening.

Pudding was a delicious display of every thing you could desire.  There was something for everyone from lemon, chocolate, fruit, meringue, coffee etc etc.  Thank you to the PSA committee for taking the time to make such a selection of puds.

Speeches and coffee led the way for the prize draw which was an outstanding collection of gifts kindly donated by local businesses, parents and staff.  We were utterly spoilt for choice and some just didn't know where to begin!  We were also fortunate to have been donated three silent auction prizes which also proved to be very popular on the evening and I am glad to say the bids for these along with the prize draw helped fill the PSA coffers enabling us to make a healthy profit which will be ploughed back into the school and provide all that we can for the students.

As the evening drew on guests moved to the school hall for dancing and gambling!  The casino was a fun one using Sexey's currency and it certainly proved to be an attractive way to spend the evening in-between some smooth dance moves to the fine selection of tunes provided by Fair Play a local band to the South West. Who once again did not disappoint and encouraged even the most reluctant of dancers onto the floor to strut their stuff.

As the clock struck midnight and with the risk of carriages turning into pumpkins or in this day and age the entertainment licence running out, guests collected their belongings, some their winnings and others tending to their sore feet, the lights were turned out on what was an amazing, fun, social and rewarding evening.  For many it had been an opportunity to meet new faces, friends to gather, staff to let their hair down but most importantly to celebrate a little of what makes Sexey's so special.  Our wonderful school building, our staff (both those who worked and supported), the children and the parents who without their support these events would not happen and the PSA would not be able to organise and provide an opportunity for such a happy and fun evening.

I personally must thank the committee for all the hard work leading up to the event.  The day before and on the day hours spent transforming both the hall and KDR.  The yellow and white theme with table cloths, napkins, balloons, flowers, streamers, fairy lights and candles all made for a very professional event.  Students also came and helped as well as making beds at Cliff  House in preparation for paying guests who had travelled far and wide for the evening and had the luxury of falling into bed not too far from the party.

There are so many people to thank and I hope I have at some point since the event acknowledged the committees gratitude for your support as it really is appreciated.

All that is left for me to say is please book Saturday 6th March 2016 in your diary.  We will being doing it all again and hope you will be able to join us.

Tom Balch very kindly spent the evening taking photographs please follow the link to his web-site to see the photos.
